Advising and Coaching Services

Weekly or Bi-Monthly, one-on-one advisory sessions to overhaul your leadership strategy, guide you through assessing gaps in your current performance, drive honest conversations about blind spots, and provide you with the tools and techniques to shore up these gaps, while focusing on your holistic development as a complete, healthy person. This is not running you through a pre-packaged, assembly-line, cookie-cutter approach to leadership development. This is targeted coaching around the real needs and issues you are working through as a leader and as a whole person.

I work with a select group of clients as an advisor and coach each year. I limit the number of my clients to only a handful at a time to ensure that I can deeply invest in each leader and organization and serve them very well. I invest in them as if they were my team.

Process

I meet with each client twice per month and each session is focused on the following three elements:

Overcoming Challenges and Putting Out Fire

You are probably seeking out an advisor because you feel stuck, facing a challenge, or need help defining the way forward. With over 30 years of leadership experience, I have probably solved whatever you are up against - usually after a few failed attempts. Having a seasoned guide point the way around your most formidable obstacles will save you time, money, and stress. In each session, we will work through your current challenges and I will offer practical advice, techniques, and next steps to move you forward faster.

Self-Directed Professional Development

We all have areas we want to improve and learn. During a one-year contract, you get to pick up to 5 areas in which you will receive tailored learning on topics in which you want to develop – Team Performance, Hiring and Firing, Financial Management, Board Leadership, Fundraising techniques and strategies, etc. I’m your private tutor in these areas for a year.

Hand-crafted Leadership Formation

Most leadership coaches have a program that they run every leader through like an assembly line. I believe every leader is unique and so I approach leadership development like a master craftsman creating a custom masterpiece. I have dozens of training modules developed over decades of experience as an organizational leader and university professor. After assessing your unique profile as a leader, I will create a professional development plan, plugging in specific training and advising modules tailored specifically around your needs, rounding out your development as a leader.

Fees

Having a coaching process that wraps all three of these services together creates a robust pathway for us to solve current challenges while equipping you with the skills to deal with whatever comes next.

An annual contract is based on a $500 per month fee. Fees are paid every month and the ideal contract length is one year. Advising can be scaled to meet the client's budget by decreasing the months of an engagement with the minimum engagement being three months.

The engagement includes two one-hour video conferences per month. Additional training, workshops or projects are handled on a case-by-case basis for an additional fee.
